Mt. Bachelor, less than a half hour’s drive from Bend, OR, where we’ll be staying, provides ski runs for all levels of skier and snowboarder. The resort is the 6th largest ski resort in North America with over 4,000 skiable acres, 3,365 feet of vertical drop, and 101 runs to explore. The highest of the lifts unloads at the very crater of the Mt. Bachelor volcano.
Our lodging at the Hampton Inn and Suites located in Bend’s historic Old Mill District, right next to the Deschutes River. It has a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Downtown Bend, which is only about 1 mile from Old Mill, also contains an unbelievable number of brewpubs, tap rooms and shops for browsing. Another option might be to explore nearby Smith Rocks State Park (26 miles from Bend).
There are 10 rooms with a King bed and 15 rooms with two Queens. They come equipped with a small frig, coffeemaker and microwave. A breakfast buffet comes with your hotel reservation each morning. Monday Night features a Welcome Party at 7pm, which includes pizza, salad, and a glass or two of red/white wine or a can of beer.
This is a drive-to trip. Drive time to Bend from the Seattle area is approximately 6 to 7 hours depending on road conditions. Ride shares can be privately arranged among trip attendees, according to their preferences.
Four nights lodging (arrive Monday Feb 17 - depart Friday Feb 21) is $438 each based on double occupancy.
